Home-Start Kingstanding Home-Start is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer support, friendship and practical help to families under stress who have at least one child under 5 years of age who live in the wards of Kingstanding, Ocsott and Perry Barr. Home-Start offers help by visiting families at home and also by offering support at its family groups. Volunteers are from various backgrounds and can be of all ages, status, race, creed, colour or gender. Volunteers are people who are parents themselves, so understand the pressures of family life. They use the skills and experiences they have gained from being a parent, to help support families. They offer informal support from one parent to another. Home-Start Kingstanding offers: regular support, friendship, practical help and a listening ear. Any one who would like support or is interested in becoming a volunteer should contact the Home-Start office on 0121 258 8303 or Janet on 07912855626 or by email hskingstanding@aol.com for further information follow the link to the Home-Start web-site.
