Notice Board

Youth and Children’s Pilgrimage - In past years, the PCC has paid the majority of the cost towards the Youth and the Children’s Pilgrimage. This year we cannot afford to do this. For those wanting to go on either pilgrimage, and for those wanting to support them, please think of one or two ways in which we can raise money to help them.

Prayers - Please continue praying for Synod as we approach this crucial time in the life of the church.

Events for 2012 - We have planned several trips and a possible Parish Holiday for 2012. If anyone has any further ideas as to where they might like to go, or what they might like to do, please speak to one of the wardens.

Security - Over the past few months, we have noticed one or two things going missing, either during the service, or before mass on a Sunday. Please be aware of your belongings and do not leave expensive items such as mobile phones or handbags lying around on the tables in the hall. Thank-you.

Flowers - Several people have asked recently if they can buy flowers in memory of their loved ones. Please give any donations to Sue Beddowes, with the date when you want the flowers in church. We very much appreciate you. She is also taking donations for Easter Flowers from this week.

New Liturgy - We now have laminated cards to guide us through the new mass. Please DO NOT TAKE THESE HOME. These are to stay in church. Many thanks.

Tea and Coffee - We really need new volunteers to come forward and help with the tea and coffee, and for those who are on the rota to take their turn. Please think about offering your time, perhaps once a month to help out. Thank you.

Welcoming Team - We need more volunteers to help Arthur on the Welcome Desk on a Sunday morning. Please see him if you would like to know more. This is an important and vital job.

New Mass Times  -  The mass times have changed to:

Monday: No Mass

Tuesday: 7.00PM Mass

Wednesday: 10.00AM Mass and Coffee

Thursday: 7.00PM Mass

Friday: 10.00AM Mass and Coffee
Saturday: 10.00AM Mass and Coffee

Please come and support the prayer life of this community.

Points mean prizes! - Edith and Roy have asked me to put out an appeal for more prizes. We are very short. Any good quality items that you would be pleased to win, please give to Edith or Roy. Many thanks.

Microphone - Thank you to all who have promised money to replace the microphones. If anyone else would like to donate, please see Gill after mass. We very much appreciate your kindness.

Quiet before Mass - Silent prayer time before Mass enables us to properly prepare to receive Jesus in word and in sacrament.  Can we please respect the silence as we pray and prepare.    Thank-you.

Food Boxes for those in need - If you have any unwanted tins of food that are still in date then please place them in the box next to the contact table.

Every Person Matters - Have you noticed that someone you normally sit next to has not been for a week or two? Why not use one of the contact cards which have been on the Welcome Table for several months to let a member of the clergy know they need visiting?

Saturday Night Evening Prayer – Each Saturday night a small group of Laity meet to say Evening Prayer.  This is open to anyone who would like to join us.  It begins at 6.00pm in the Lady Chapel and you should be here by no later than 5.55pm, it lasts for about 15 minutes.  Help will be given!!

Saint Luke's - has an induction loop for those that have hearing difficulties.  Please select the 'T' switch on your hearing aid.

Say it with flowers – We are always looking for sponsorship for flowers on a Sunday.  On the contact table there is a list and if you would like flowers dedicated in memory of anything or anyone then place money in an envelope and hand this to one of the wardens or the clergy.

Warning – In the event of a fire an alarm will sound.  Please evacuate the building by the nearest exit (the original main entrance at the right side of the altar presents difficulties for those with mobility problems.

Plenty of room on top – There are spare seats in the balcony.  Please do consider using these and leaving downstairs for people with physical difficulties.
