Coffee Rota - if anyone
would like to volunteer for the Coffee Rota, please speak to
Arthur. As a result of many requests, we decided to open it up
to anyone who wanted to help. It involves putting the cups and
saucers out and getting the coffee machine ready for action, and
being in church by 10.00am to make sure all is in place. We all
need to share the 'behind the scenes' jobs as well as the 'up
front' ones which might not be as fun, but it all needs doing.
Holidays - I know it's now
holiday season, and many people are away. This is a time for
making sure we are in church as much as possible to support each
other, and all the many visitors we get. Please make every
effort to come, not just on a Sunday, which is the high point of
our worshipping week, but also during the mass. There are many
churches that do not have weekday services, we are very
fortunate here. I don't want to 'pressgang' people into coming,
because that is not what I believe God wants in our life of
worship, but please think about attending. You never know, you
might like it!

go already, so please speak to me about it after mass. Sheila
will be arranging a savings book so you can save weekly. A
deposit of £50 is needed to secure a place.

Here at St Luke's, we are very
fortunate to have mass said each and every day in this parish,
the source of prayer and meditation which keeps churches lively
and healthy. Please make coming to mass one day in the week a
priority. I would also like to remind all PCC members that this
is an essential part of your commitment to St Luke's as a church
officer. I know sometimes it is not possible to get to church
midweek, but please make an effort. Prayer and the Eucharist are
at the centre of our spiritual life here, Please don't leave it
to others to do the day to day work.
